To advocate for sustainable urban development in Chattogram, the Organization for Disaster Management Society (ODMS) organized a high-level seminar titled "Roadmap for Mainstreaming Climate Resilience in Urban Planning" at the Chittagong Circuit House. Chaired by ODMS Chairman Prof. Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, the event featured Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Mohammad Shamim Sohel, as the Chief Guest, with welcome remarks delivered by ODMS Chief Executive Muhammad Matiur Rahman Chowdhury Milton. Delivering the keynote paper, Prof. Dr. Md. Monirul Kibria outlined essential measures to combat the city's environmental vulnerabilities—emphasizing canal restoration to prevent urban flooding, modern waste management, and heightened public awareness for climate adaptation. Distinguished speakers and policymakers underscored the critical necessity of integrating field-level research and tech-driven data from organizations like ODMS into government policy to bridge academic insights with actionable climate resilience.
